Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Haircarenook collects when you read an article, take the hair type quiz, save a pin, or send a message.
If you do not want your information handled this way, please do not use the site or the contact form.
Who we are
Haircarenook is the website at https://haircarenook.com. It is run and edited by Vaishvi Desai.
Questions about privacy, data, or this policy go to [email protected] or the contact page.
What this site does not do
Haircarenook does not have user accounts or a members area. You cannot create a login. We do not run a public upload form for reader photos.
Information we collect
Information you send us
If you use the contact form or email [email protected], we receive what you choose to include. That is usually your name, email address, and message. The form provider also receives a technical address used to limit spam.
We use that information to read the message and reply. We do not add contact-form addresses to a newsletter or sell them.
Information collected automatically
When you load a page, our hosting provider processes the request so the site can be delivered. That typically includes your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, and the time of the request. Those logs exist so the site can stay up and so abuse can be investigated. They are not used to build a marketing profile of you.
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read, roughly where readers are, and what kind of device they use. Google may set cookies or similar storage for this. The reports we see are aggregated. You can block analytics cookies in your browser if you prefer not to be included.
Hair type quiz
The hair type quiz runs in your browser. Your answers stay on your device unless you later paste them into an email or the contact form yourself. We do not receive a copy of the quiz just because you finished it.
The stylist brief, color upkeep estimate, and morning picker work the same way. They run in your browser. We do not receive a copy unless you email it or paste it into the contact form yourself.
Cookies and similar tools
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Haircarenook uses them only where a service we rely on needs them:
- Google Analytics, to measure traffic as described above
- Any cookie Google, our hosting provider, or a similar provider sets to keep the site secure or to remember a basic preference
If you click a Pinterest Save button, you leave this site for Pinterest’s pin composer. Pinterest’s own policy applies from that point. We do not get a copy of your Pinterest account.
You can delete cookies, block them, or use a browser setting that limits tracking. The site will still load. Some measurement will be incomplete.
How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Publish and host the website
- See which articles people read, so we can improve them
- Answer messages you send
- Keep the site secure and deal with spam or abuse
- Comply with a legal request if we are required to
We do not sell the names or email addresses you send through the contact form. We do not rent our inbox.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the services that make the site work:
- Hosting, for DNS and delivery of pages and images
- Google, for Analytics and the site tag described above
- FormSubmit, to deliver contact-form messages to our inbox
- Email, when we reply to you
If an article includes a product link that can earn a commission, the retailer or affiliate network may notice that you clicked it. That is their tracking, not a Haircarenook account file. Partnerships and affiliate links are disclosed in the article or in our editorial guidelines.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or if we must protect the site or a person from serious harm.
Advertising
This Site is affiliated with Monumetric (dba for The Blogger Network, LLC) for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Monumetric will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. To learn more about Monumetric’s data usage, click here: Publisher Advertising Privacy
How long we keep it
Contact messages stay in the inbox long enough to answer them and to keep a short record of the conversation. We remove them when they are no longer needed.
Analytics data is kept according to the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.
Hosting logs are kept only as long as the host’s normal operations require.
Your choices and rights
You can email [email protected] to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, or to ask us to delete it, unless we have to keep it for a legal reason. We aim to reply within 30 days.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have rights under GDPR, including access, correction, erasure, restriction, and objection to certain processing. If you are a California resident, you can request a report of the personal information we collected and ask us to delete it under the CCPA. We do not sell contact-form names or email addresses.
You can also stop using the contact form, block cookies, or use a tracking-prevention browser.
Children
Haircarenook is written for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Embedded content and other sites
Most images on Haircarenook are hosted with the site. If a page ever embeds a video, map, or widget from another company, that company may collect data as if you visited them directly. Links to other websites are not covered by this policy.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. No method of sending information over the internet is perfect. If we learn of a breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we collect or use information, we will update this page and the date below. Continued use of the site after a change means you are reading the current version.
This policy was last updated on October 1, 2026.
